Sales Training Strategic Partner The purpose of this position and the specific value it brings to Anthem is to positively impact performance and business results through strategic consulting and partnership that relates sales training as a crucial component of successful business and growth strategy and goal accomplishment. The Sales Training Strategic Partner will be responsible for knowledge of assigned business unit strategic planning, growth and customer insight work. Owning sales training outcomes that directly support and enable business results through strategy, oversight of development/implementation and sales training and performance results.

Primary duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Understands all aspects of the business and partners with executive leadership to define sales training strategy and successful criteria for the future.

  • Internal client and partner relationship manager: build and maintain trusted advisor relationships

  • Central point and channel of communication between assigned relationships and Sales Training, serving as an efficient source of information and sharing as appropriate/needed

  • Engage directly in Strategic Planning Processes with assigned internal client groups and partners to design and align training solutions with business and growth strategy

  • Translates strategy into defined sales training tactics, programs/projects priorities and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of sales training in support of enterprise strategic plans to turn strategy into reality through exceptional performance of the sales organization.

  • Understands and documents strategic priorities and aligns sales training to support and enable strategic goals.

  • Builds and maintains business knowledge such as external environment and reports on customer insight research initiatives.

  • Builds and leverages relationships to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.

  • Proposes opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment.

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting on line of business planning and sales training project activities/milestones, status and outcomes.

  • Accountable for measurement of business impact of key development solutions including reporting and communication of results

  • Accountable for reporting results and developing executive summaries at key intervals and at conclusion of sales training/program initiatives.

  • Facilitates high stakes/high visibility training as needed.

  • Acts as an accountability warrior both internally and externally to clients & team members

  • Plays a vital role in supporting major training initiatives as a consultant for the business, helping guide Sales Training to better support and align to key business outcomes

Qualifications

  • Requires BA/BS in related field; Master’s degree preferred

  • 7+ years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

  • Previous sales and sales training experience highly preferred

  • Ability to travel as needed is required.

  • Ability to think both strategically, analytically and critically, connecting business goals and outcomes through performance.

  • Ability to discuss differences and manage conflicts while maintaining the on-going relationship.

  • Highly effective leadership/management skills as an individual contributor; establish and maintain professional business credibility throughout Anthem

  • Confidence and professionalism to work with executives, leaders, managers and sales associates throughout the organization.
