Job Description:

The DC Industrial/Logistics Engineer is responsible for their DC's labor management program including continuous process improvement efforts designed to improve productivity and lower operating cost. This role will provide the expertise and leadership in project management to maximize our total performance and operating capability of each functional group in the DC. This person is responsible for insuring DC is DC management is knowledgeable and is following best methods. They will support their DC in project management related to best practices, technology applications, material handling systems, facility planning, labor management systems and procedures to ensure that business and project objectives are achieved.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Responsible for the design and implementation of cost savings/improvement solutions for the distribution center in the areas of personnel, programs, and equipment utilization.

  • Develop processes, procedures and testing for business units and customers; generally for distribution and production centers. Create, maintain and provide documentation.

  • Provide support for warehouse operations, provide technical training support – develop, update and maintain instructional documents and process instructions to assist in operations within the facility.

  • Manage implementation of improvement solutions or new process/software introductions; identify areas to improve equipment, process or personnel utilization. Monitor implemented solutions and present findings to appropriate management groups as needed. Update work instructions.

  • Resolve processing issues, address process, design, construct and debug operations and determine efficiency; respond to floor issues as circumstances dictate or calculate labor to operations.

  • Provide support to new equipment or processes development purposes.

  • Provides support for item slotting software.

What We're Looking For

  • 4 year industrial engineering degree and 2–4 years of industrial/distributions engineering experience

  • Experience with WMS and LMS systems required

  • Experience working in process improvement/cost savings projects

  • Experience working in a distribution center

  • Experience in Slotting software, AutoCAD, VBA/SQL, Visio, MS Project and MS Access

  • Experience in developing engineered labor management and/or engineering time standards
