SUMMARY The Grand Sierra is looking for energetic and customer service minded individuals to join the Food and Beverage team as a Host for Cantina. The Host guarantees guests are served in a warm, accommodating and professional manner ensuring total guest satisfaction. Guarantee prompt, courteous and team minded service throughout the entire department and adhere to all Grand Sierra Resort standards. This role is highly visible and interacts with sponsors, vendors, clients, and GSR Management. Leads by example at all times and provides the highest level of customer service to all guests, vendors and clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Believe and demonstrate through their work the GSR Vision and Mission Statement. * Vision Statement: * Become the region's most respected hospitality and gaming company * *Mission Statement: We are dedicated to becoming a leader in the hospitality and gaming business by providing exceptional value and service to our guests, and commitment to the communities in which we live and serve * Greet and seat restaurant customers in a welcoming, accommodating and professional manner following all required standards. * Receive payment from guests in the form of cash, credit cards, room charges and comp slips. Make change as needed, verify validity of charges, record charges and insure vouchers are properly executed in order to properly balance all monetary transactions. * Make deposits/cash drops, complete appropriate cashier paperwork/reports, balance and secure bank. * Answer phones quickly and politely without any sign of hurriedness. * Handle guest issues in a professional manner. * Employ essential hospitality standards: eye contact, smile, speak first, and engage in polite conversation. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES * High School diploma required. * Minimum 1 year experience in any customer service related position. * Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Must possess a strong attention to detail and presentation skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, customers, and general public. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to create and interpret bar graphs. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions through decisive judgment. Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. * Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing . * Must be a minimum of 18 years of age * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Word and Outlook * Champion of Customer Service and building positive team spirit * Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate. * Dedicated to meeting and/or exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and external clients. * Trusted and is seen as a truthful individual who is highly respectful of others. * Consistently exhibits courteous, respectful, and appropriate communications and presents information in a concise and understandable format. * Cooperate with others in the accomplishment of joint tasks and common objectives. * Contributes to a positive work environment, fosters collaboration and provides a tangible contribution. * Meet requirements of regular attendance in order to effectively complete job responsibilities in a timely manner. * *PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
