Responsible for the daily response of service calls of a mechanical nature at our customers jobsites. When heavy or mobile equipment breaks down at a construction site, it may be too difficult or expensive to bring into a repair shop, so the shop will send a person in this position to the site to make repairs. Field service technicians work outdoors and spend much of their time away from the shop while driving trucks specially equipped with the replacement parts and tools needed to complete the job. This is a non-exempt level position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
May or may not include:
Repairing and maintaining vehicles and equipment with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, gas and diesel rental equipment
Travel to local worksites to complete repairs on various types of rental equipment
Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis
Knowledge and operation of construction equipment would be beneficial
Truck and diesel engine experience would be considered an asset
Must possess own tools
Ability to pass a drug screen
A customer friendly disposition and a safety first attitude
Must possess a team orientated spirit
Must have a good driving record
Must be able to provide Motor Vehicle Record at time of job offer (current within 15 days)
Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, the agility to climb over and into equipment and the dexterity to work at heights over 10 feet. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Field Service Technicians usually spend the majority of their time in outside weather conditions and are required to travel to local jobsites to repair vehicles and equipment. This position often is required to lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty parts, and stand or lie in awkward positions. Although some jobsites may be drafty and noisy, technicians usually work in well-lit and ventilated areas. These jobsites may contain a number of hazardous areas however, accidents normally can be avoided as long as safety practices are observed.
While driving, Field Service Technicians are exposed to noise and minor vibration levels, occasional poor weather conditions and busy traffic settings. . This position may have to deal with difficult or irate customers, which can be challenging. However, the ability to resolve customersâ€™ problems has the potential to be very rewarding.
