Position SummaryThe Maintenance Director oversees the organization’s facilities Maintenance functions, standards, policies.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees the Maintenance Program in the US Power Plants.

  • Establishes facilities maintenance policies

  • Identifies and specifies annual Maintenance budget, prepares recommendations and scoping of Capital Expenses as well as Major Maintenance Activities.

  • Directs and maintain Spare Part Management in the US fleet.

​Plant Outages:

  • Standardizes Major Power Plant Outages

  • Develops Programs, KPI, Procedures for safe and effective execution of plant outages

  • Prepares annual Plan Plant Outages together with the Plant Managers – these include Scope, Schedule, Budgets and Resource planning.

Maintenance Management system:

  • Develops work processes for Maintenance Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance Tasks

  • Leads efficient and comprehensive implementation, integration and usage of Maintenance ERP Modules (SAP PM)

  • Oversees the building and maintaining of a database for all maintainable equipment in Ormat

Power Plants, as the basis for the SAP PM Module:

  • Training and Qualification: Builds training and qualification plan for Mechanical, Instrumentation and Electrical Technicians

Project Management:

  • Develops and leads a team that will plan and execute CAPEX projects

  • Plans and oversees budgets, costs and resources of CAPEX projects

Equipment Integrity and Availability:

  • Work with the Reliability team to develop Inspection, Repair Plans of Plants Equipment, based on risk and failure mode evaluation. Determine together with the Reliability team the MTTF, MTBF and MMTR for Plant Equipment.

  • Set standards for Preventative Maintenance, Repairs or Replacement of Equipment, Piping and Instrumentation.

Other Responsibilities

  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management.

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Mechanical Engineering field.

  • Experience with Maintenance, Design, Manufacturing, Warehousing

  • Strong Possesses development capabilities

  • Great leadership and interpersonal skills, the ability to work closely with numerous plant personnel and be able to get their cooperation and enthusiasm

  • Should be very organized, capable to work and master large volumes of data, and be able to sort and build the data to be useful and actionable.

  • Be able to work effectively in a high work load environment.

  • Willing and capable of travelling to plant sites, and spending significant time for evaluation, and for building and tracking maintenance plans

  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative and ability to work with minimal or no supervision.

  • Must be able to communicate with other employees, and read and write English, at a level that will enable them to perform their work in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and visually in a clear and effective manner including in noise and low illumination environments.

  • Ability to prioritize and work quickly and meet all deadlines.

  • Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in process design and analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and use of the Internet.

  • Acquaintance with ERP, PLM and Design software – an advantage.

  • Must possess, at any time, a valid driver’s license, with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’ policies and auto insurance carrier.

  • The ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and periodically lift 50 pounds

  • Must be able to climb ladders, climb to and work off of elevated platforms, ladders and walkways

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and in harsh weather conditions

  • Job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping, and kneeling

  • Must be able to travel extensively to other locations, both domestic and international, including rural areas to work on other projects

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary.

  • Must be able to work extended hours as required

  • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, refuel vehicle and enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous periods of time and read and understand maps.
