Oracle Business Development Director - US Federal in Reno, Nevada

Manages a team that is responsible for identifying relevant new business opportunities and designing "go-to-market" plans to deliver measurable and significant revenues. Consistently meets with potential customers and current customers to build pipeline.

Manages, through other managers, a team of business development representatives for a territory/region. The team is actively and frequently customer facing, providing the value proposition to business or org leaders, qualifying opportunities, and selling the value of the oracle solution. Provides operations management of lead qualification functions. Contributes to strategic and tactical planning for the division. Responsible for coaching, performance management, and career development of staff. Participates in the recruiting process and makes hiring decisions. Manages budget.

Experience qualifying prospects and customers; understanding of the sales cycle process. Strong leadership skills. Strong Oracle product knowledge. BA/BS preferred. Experience managing staff. Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Able to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations important.

ThePublic Sector North America Oracle Cloudorganization has an immediate opening for the Leader of ourU.S Federal Executive team. This team is a high-performing group of talented, seasoned executives who specialize in being the knowledge experts in their respective industry. They are the standard-bearers of Oracle Cloud applications to customer executives. The team works directly with customers using their deep business experience and robust knowledge of industry issues, trends, regulations and overall industry market landscape to identify business and digital transformation opportunities that can substantially improve our customers business when powered by Oracle Cloud applications. In addition, this team provides Industry-based thought leadership and guidance to key Oracle stakeholders by:

  • Leading the development of Industry-related messaging and content

  • Identifying Industry-specific transformation themes with key business opportunities

  • Identifying Industry-based solution sets and solution scenarios (use cases)

  • Working actively with Oracle’s Product Development and Solution Engineering teams on industry-based needs and requirements

The leader of theExecutive teamwill be responsible to evolve the team capability, ensuring the continued growth of the team members. The leader will also ensure the team’s programs to develop and deliver Industry-relevant content to the Oracle Cloud Applications organization are planned, executed, delivered and communicated. The leader will also be customer-facing, leading by example and bringing Industry-relevant transformational thought leadership to Oracle’s customers and prospects.

This leader will be seen as credible by our Federal customer executives and seen internally as a thought leader who can bring industry-relevant and thought-provoking messaging in order to position institutional-relevant outcomes that will be powered by Oracle’s industry-leading cloud portfolio, including cloud infrastructure, security, storage and compute.

This role should expect travel commensurate with approximately 50%-75% customer facing time.

Role Requirements

  • Experience qualifying prospects and customers; understanding of the sales cycle process.

  • Experience in U.S Federal Government and strong leadership skills.

  • BA/BS preferred.

  • Experience managing staff.

  • Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met.

  • Able to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important.

  • Direct and ensure the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interact internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy.

  • Functional expertise and broad company knowledge.
