HNTB Project Engineer - Rail/Transit in Las Vegas, Nevada

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced, technically sound project engineer to work on projects that could consist of alternatives analysis, corridor improvements and extensions. The engineer will coordinate efforts of a design team to deliver quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. Coordinates efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort. Also accountable for handling specific design aspects on projects. Coordinates efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort. Serves as technical liaison with client on project efforts. Responsible for gross revenue of <$1M.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.

  • Quality control within discipline

  • Planning, design and construction phases of projects

  • Completeness and accuracy of design team work

  • Technical liaison with client for work within the discipline

  • Assists with project management duties

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • 6 or more years of experience in track design with an emphasis on railway, commuter, and transit projects

  • Experience with special trackwork design

  • Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD

  • Knowledge in AREMA and TCRP guidelines for rail and transit.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Collaborates well with others and effective team leader in fast paced environment.

  • Knowledge of local agency transit and commuter rail corridors and standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 6 years relevant experience
