Job Description


Responsible for the installation, maintenance, repairs and improvements of all building, equipment and infrastructure as directed.


  • Ensures all mechanical devices are operating at 100% efficiency

  • Dedicated to supporting Operations by working in a safe and customer focused manner

  • Exemplary attendance and punctuality is required

  • Compliance of all Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions


  • Repairing and making improvements to building and infrastructure

  • Supporting and maintaining fire protection systems

  • Maintaining the distribution center's HVAC system

  • Maintaining and repairing distribution racking system

  • Metal and wood fabrications, including welding

  • Repairing and maintaining material handling equipment

  • Repairing and maintaining building pneumatic system

  • Maintaining automated conveyor system

  • Minor mechanical assistance with Truck Fleet

  • Completing preventative maintenance routines, documentation and procedures

  • Tracking and storing the department's inventory, including spare parts

  • Supporting continuous improvement in department and DC

  • Must maintain adequate time management during work hours


  • Fast pace environment

  • Gaining familiarity with the numerous tasks, equipment, building structure

  • Multi-task and prioritize many different projects and work loads


  • Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing and walking

  • Long periods of standing

  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Understanding of blueprint diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)

  • Valid driver's license

  • 2yearapprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field

  • Certified to operate Material Handling Equipment

  • Ability to work successfully with little supervision

  • Mechanical Experience with Material Handling Equipment

  • Must provide your basic tools to do the job


  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Degree from a vocational school or college with focus in the mechanical/electrical field

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Experience with Contech software

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with peers, management, contractors and vendors

  • Experience and proficiency in the following areas:

  • Automated conveyor systems and controls

  • Electrical and electronic principals

  • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading

  • Repair of material handling equipment

  • HVAC maintenance and repair

  • Preventative maintenance procedures

  • Certified Electrician, Millwright, other
