Summary of Functions:
Under general supervision, technicians perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance, installation, repair and servicing of CCTV, Burglar Alarm, Access Control, computer networking, and telephones.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install CCTV systems, burglar alarm, and Access Controls.
Perform preventative and regular maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair equipment
Design and install low voltage wiring systems
Operate central monitoring station equipment
Perform administrative office duties
Oversee sub-contractors and other employees
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
May assist in training or instructing others.

Security Technicians perform a variety of skilled duties which involve inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on security systems equipment.
Organizational Relationships:
Reports to Project Manager / Director Security & Loss Prevention
Qualifications:
Previous experience with alarm systems mandatory
Valid Driver's License
Understanding of equipment and safety regulations pertaining to the work performed.
Nicet certification preferred
2+ years Installation & troubleshooting experience with CCTV & Burglar Alarm
Knowledge of electronic equipment
Working knowledge of the National Electric Code
Programming abilities with : Ademco, DSC, Napco, GE, Visonic.
Basic Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP protocol.
Knowledge and programming of various DVR types

Apply concepts of basic electricity.
Apply concepts of basic electronics component theory and alarm systems operations.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and talk or hear; walk or sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents, analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret situations; deal with changing; intensive deadlines.
Work Environment:
The employee frequently works inside tight crawl spaces and regularly work on buildings that are 10 ft or higher and uneven surfaces. The employee is occasionally exposed to inclement weather prevalent at the time and fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment may occasionally be loud. Employee will regularly be required to work from high reach equipment and ladders.
